The effects of COVID19 also resulted in the cancellation of our annual benefit dinner, He Momi. We had a fabulous evening planned, and we look forward to a safer time when we are able to gather. Contributions from this event support many essential workings of Hui, and have a lasting effect throughout the year. And so, we circle back to you gracious folks to ask for your support- will you join us?
Your financial support will allow us to continue to adapt during this uncertain time and address emerging needs. Please join the matching commitment Dan and Allison Rose have made for all donations received before September 1st, 2020.
Donations can be made below or by mail (with checks made out to "Hui Aloha Kīholo" and sent to P.O. Box 1868 Kamuela, Hawaii 96743). Please click here to contact Nahaku Kalei, Executive Director, with any questions.

Found below are divisions or zones of the ocean pulled from ancestral knowledge. These zones begin where the ocean meets the land and move progressively outwards towards the horizon. No one area could be deemed more important than any other, so too is your donation, no matter how big or small.

WHAT HAS HUI BEEN UP TO?
Due to health and safety concerns associated with COVID19, Kīholo State Park Reserve closed for over three months. During that time, and continuing in this period, Hui Aloha Kīholo provided absolutely critical functions to protect the health of Kiholoʻs pristine lands and waters.
We are so proud of the work our Hoa ʻĀina stewards have done to maintain a daily, on the ground presence at Kīholo, sharing ever evolving governmental mandates regarding the park closure and continuing to monitor cultural and natural resources. Our education team launched Aloha Fridays Live! a series of live talk story sessions with staff and partners combining culture, nature, storytelling, and good vibes to remind us of our interconnectivity during a time of isolation.
That's not to say it's been an easy road. As a State heavily dependent on tourism, Hawaii has incurred devastating economic losses during this pandemic, the result of which has been the loss of key State sponsored services at Kīholo, such as portable restrooms and waste disposal. Hui is proud to have been able to immediately step in and assume those critical sanitation contracts, assuring the health and safety of our community.
We are more committed than ever to protecting, perpetuating, and enhancing the cultural and natural landscape of Kīholo through collaborative management and active community stewardship. Our island’s people and health depend on it.
Camping at the Kīholo State Park Reserve will be closed starting September 24, 2021 until further notice due to COVID-19 guidelines set by the State and/or County.
